Hello and Namaste from Judy Carman:
Next Sunday, September 21, is the International Day of Peace.
This Day was established by the U.N. General Assembly in 2001 and is
celebrated worldwide. The declaration states that “the
International Day of Peace shall henceforth be observed as a day of
global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and
people to honour a cessation of hostilities for the duration of the
Day.” The World Peace Prayer Society (WPPS) encourages everyone
to commemorate this day by planting peace poles, having flag
ceremonies, praying, and spreading the spirit of peace.
I love the way the WPPS dovetails with our mission of praying for and
liberating all animals. Their mission “is simple—To spread the
Universal Peace Message and Prayer ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth’ far and
wide to embrace the lands and people of Earth.” They go on to say
that in the original Japanese, the written character for “Earth”
includes all life, all of creation.
WPPS helped sponsor the online educational summit, Summer of Peace,
which began June 13 and will end on September 21. Our own Will
Tuttle was one of the many speakers at this online forum and, I
believe, the only vegan animal rights activist. Many of the icons of
peace who spoke did not mention animals, their rights, or the war that
rages against them. But Will did. And thus they were
included, and the power of that is massive. Thank you, Will.
The Power of Thought and Words:
WPPS explains that thought forms “create an energetic field strong
enough to empower the course of planetary destiny…[and] words carry
vibrations strong enough to inspire, heal, and transform the human
heart as well as the Kingdom of plants, animals and all
creation.” We prayer-circle-for-animals folks could not agree
more. Our own prayer which we repeat each day, “Compassion
encircles the earth for all beings everywhere,” gains more of a
touchstone in the hearts of humanity every time it is spoken or
thought.
Ceasefire on Animals: This week
as we draw near to the International Day of Peace, let us fashion our
thoughts, prayers, and words to expand this grand worldwide vision of
nonviolence and ceasefire to include all animals. And not just
for one day, not just for September 21, but for every day from this day
forward. We do this for the animals, but we also do it for
people, because, as we know, people will have no rest from wars until
the wars against animals are forever ended. And so we join with
the millions of kind souls who pray for and celebrate ceasefire and
nonviolence on the International Day of Peace. When we say those
powerful words “May Peace Prevail on Earth,” with them, we add “FOR ALL
BEINGS EVERYWHERE.” There is so much Love being spoken and sung and
shared in this world. We are very close to the tipping point when all
that Love for humanity will come circling around and embracing all the
animals as well. Dear Animals of Earth, we live and pray each day for
your freedom.
As always, I send my thanks to each of you for joining this circle of
compassion and shining the Light of Truth for all to see, so that one
day soon, all beings will live in peace together.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy, and Will, Madeleine, and the Circle of Compassion team.
