And Our Prayer for the Week from Judy Carman
SIX COWS ESCAPED SLAUGHTER IN ST. LOUIS. “One Green
Planet” reported on April 4 that 6 cows escaped death and ran for 5 hours
through the city streets before being captured. They were taken to the
slaughterhouse but saved by the pleas of many activists and the good work of
Adam Brewster who raised needed funds for their transfer to Gentle Barn
Sanctuary. We can give the animals a voice, but the animals themselves can
speak volumes with actions like these. Better than any of our words can convey,
they can make it clear beyond any doubt that they do not want to die and they
want to be free. And even people who won’t listen to us cannot argue with
the crystal clear message of those 6 cows and all the other animals who have
bravely and boldly escaped from cruel human hands.
THIS WEEK’S PRAYER FOR MORE DRAMATIC ESCAPES: Animals
communicate with each other in ways we cannot fathom. Whales can send messages
over hundreds of miles; elephants can communicate in sounds we cannot hear. We
have heard the mournful cries of cows who have been separated from loved ones,
but perhaps they have other ways of communicating that we know nothing about.
Let us hold a vision this week of cows everywhere, indeed all captive animals,
hearing the hero tales of escaped friends and feeling a growing awareness of
their own ability to gain their freedom. Let us imagine more and more of them
finding holes in fences and escape routes from slaughterhouses. Let us see the
news media covering all these events and caring people getting them safely to
sanctuaries. Let us see more sanctuaries and loving vegan homes being
established for every escapee. Dear animals, we are cheering you on. We will
always be out there speaking for you, teaching others of your divine natures
and your rights to live free, but your runs for freedom are powerful influences
on people. We give thanks for your courage, and we ask the Loving Universe to
fill you all and us with even more courage. Together we are creating a vegan
world. We see you; we love you; we are with you
Thank you, dear prayer partners, for your faithful prayers and visionary
thoughts. Thanks to all of you, compassion is encircling the earth for all
beings. Thank you for your devotion to truth, love, liberation and peace for
all beings.
As always, I send my thanks to each of you, dear Prayer Circle members, for
May Divine Wisdom, the animals’ grace, and our true hearts guide us
toward ahimsa, peace, liberation, and lovingkindness for all. As always, I send
my thanks to each of you, dear Prayer Circle members, for joining this circle
of compassion and shining the Light of Truth for all to see, so that one day
soon, all beings will live in peace together.
May compassion
and love reign over all the earth for all beings everywhere.
Thank you all
for your devotion to truth, love, liberation and peace for all beings.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy Carman, and greetings from Will,
Madeleine, Tara and the Circle of Compassion team
