And Our Prayer for the Week from Judy Carman
BABY HIPPO RESCUED BY HUMAN BEINGS. It is easy to lose hope
that humanity will ever become compassionate and nonviolent, but examples
abound of the tremendous love that people are capable of showing., Recently the
David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust {DSWT) rescued an orphaned baby hippo. DSWT is
famous for having spent years rescuing baby elephants orphaned by poachers who
have killed their families. This wonderful organization has successfully helped
them join new elephant families. The baby hippo’s new name is Humpty. She
has a pool of her own and lots of loving care. Will’s World Peace Diet
reminds us throughout the book that pure love dwells in every human heart.
Sailesh Rao, author of Carbon Dharma, asserts that human beings innately care
about animals, but their actions (such as eating animals) are not in synch with
their true nature. It is that true nature that must awaken and come into the
full flowering of consciousness.
THIS WEEK’S PRAYER: MAY WE SEE PAST ALL THE
MISGUIDED HUMAN CRUELTIES AND GAZE UPON THE TRUE NATURE OF HUMANITY.
There are actions we must take to prevent suffering whenever we are able. But
even in the midst of that, may we hold firm to the knowledge that love for our
cousin animals truly lives in all people. We give thanks that we have been
blessed with an all-embracing love and reverence for all life. We give thanks
that we are learning how to nullify the cultural programming that causes so
many to support abominable animal cruelty. As we meditate upon compassion, let
us sense deeply the natural love that people feel but cannot yet express. May
we find ways, through both prayer and action, to help those around us to open
their hearts at last. For it is in synchronizing their actions with their true
hearts that they will find true joy and liberation. Let us share an unshakable
faith that the time has come--love for all life is aching to be set free from
the shackles of ignorance and fear. By setting all beings free from human
domination, human beings thus gain their freedom as well. May all people
everywhere be liberated to love all beings.
As always, I send my thanks to each of you, dear Prayer Circle members, for
May Divine Wisdom, the animals’ grace, and our true hearts guide us
toward ahimsa, peace, liberation, and lovingkindness for all. As always, I send
my thanks to each of you, dear Prayer Circle members, for joining this circle
of compassion and shining the Light of Truth for all to see, so that one day
soon, all beings will live in peace together.
May compassion
and love reign over all the earth for all beings everywhere.
Thank you all
for your devotion to truth, love, liberation and peace for all beings.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy Carman, and greetings from Will,
