And Our Prayer for the Week from Judy Carman
“HOW WONDERFUL IS THAT!” (Dylan Winter) I often think that the
most healing thing activists can do for themselves is to spend time being with
nature in a state of awe and wonder. Dylan Winter, a wildlife photographer, has
filmed a truly spectacular miracle--a murmuration of starlings.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/88UVJpQGi88 In the video you will see about
200,000 starlings flying together in a graceful sky dance so perfect, so
synchronized that we can only guess at how they do it. The human mind wants to
figure out how they do it, but the healing and the peace comes from
surrendering to the Divine Mystery in front of our eyes. The intelligence,
grace, and beauty of these birds is beyond us to understand intellectually. We
can only watch and give thanks for the privilege to witness their joy and
freedom. Seeing this, and other animals in the wilderness who are free, lifts
up our hearts, because, I think, it reassures our spirits—we are on the
right track. This is what we want for all beings.
OUR PRAYER FOR THIS WEEK TO LOVE THE WHOLE WORLD: from Dostoevsky’s
The Brothers Karamazov. This is one of my very favorite prayers, and I thought
it fit perfectly with the youtube of the sky dancing starlings.
Love all
God’s creation, the whole of it and every grain of sand.
Love every
leaf, every ray of God’s light
Love the
animals, love the plants, love everything.
If you love
everything, you will perceive the Divine Mystery in things.
And once you
have perceived it, you will begin to comprehend it ceaselessly
More and more
every day. And you will at last come to love
The whole
world with an abiding, universal love.
As always, I send my thanks to each of you, dear Prayer Circle members, for
May Divine Wisdom, the animals’ grace, and our true hearts guide us
toward ahimsa, peace, liberation, and lovingkindness for all. As always, I send
my thanks to each of you, dear Prayer Circle members, for joining this circle
of compassion and shining the Light of Truth for all to see, so that one day
soon, all beings will live in peace together.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy Carman, and greetings from Will,
Madeleine, Tara and the Circle of Compassion team
