And Our Prayer for the Week from Judy Carman
THE GREATEST CRIME; THE GREATEST HOPE. Yuval Noah Harari
states in his book Sapiens, “their [the animals’] fate may well
turn out to be the greatest crime in human history. If you measure crimes by
the sheer amount of pain and misery they inflict on sentient beings, this
radical claim is not implausible.” As activists, we pray and act to end
these crimes. And we are making progress. This year of 2016 has seen enormous
strides in favor of animals; in favor of ending these crimes and bringing
justice to those who have suffered so long in the wars waged against them by
humanity. No matter how awful the latest atrocity is, there is hope. We have
2017 ahead of us. We will see even greater progress and more awakening. The
momentum is building, and so are our numbers.
THIS WEEK’S PRAYER: MAY 2017 BE THE TURNING POINT YEAR FOR
ANIMALS. May all people all over the world by filled with the sudden
recognition that every animal is an individual with hopes and dreams of their
own. And in that sudden clarity, may the wars against animals finally end. We
will pray this prayer, and we will take peaceful action to bring this wisdom
and love into every human heart. We give thanks for the amazing progress that
has been made toward ending the wars against animals. With each bit of good
news, we rejoice with the animals of earth. We give thanks for this mission of
ours, that somehow by some miracle, we have been blessed with this precious
connection to all animals. We give thanks for all activists everywhere, working
so hard and refusing to lose hope. Sometimes it seems impossible, but when we
look at how far consciousness has risen and how compassion has encircled the
earth for all beings, we know these crimes, these wars, must come to an end.
Nearly all people say they love animals. That love is a spark of Hope. May
those sparks become flames of love that bring freedom and peace to all beings
everywhere.
As always, I send my thanks to each of you, dear Prayer Circle members, for
May Divine Wisdom, the animals’ grace, and our true hearts guide us
toward ahimsa, peace, liberation, and lovingkindness for all. As always, I send
my thanks to each of you, dear Prayer Circle members, for joining this circle
of compassion and shining the Light of Truth for all to see, so that one day
soon, all beings will live in peace together.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy Carman, and greetings from Will,
Madeleine, Tara and the Circle of Compassion team
