Greetings of love and gratitude from
Those Three Beautiful Words—“Circle of
On January 14, we celebrate the birthday of
Albert Schweitzer. Although his main focus was on aiding people,
he was among the early pioneers who boldly spoke out for the rights of
animals. He and Einstein both used the phrase “circle of
compassion” and his plea was that our species would include all beings
in that circle. As he said,
"We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we
treat the animals. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does
not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make
the whole world recognize it. Until we extend our circle of compassion
to all living things, humanity will not find peace."
Will, Madeleine and I adopted the phrase and vision for
, as well as for our worldwide
prayer--“Compassion encircles the earth for all beings ev
erywhere”--that is now being spoken daily by hundreds of people around
the world. The power of this focused vision cannot be
underestimated, and it carries us and the animals along with it
whenever a glad heart speaks it with love and gratitude and faith.
For this Week’s Prayer, in Honor of
Schweitzer, in Honor of His Reverence for Life,
let us each
embrace our Circle of Compassion prayer and vision as never before. Let
us know beyond any doubt that this grand circle of compassion is
growing ever wider right now. In the loving arms of this vegan,
ahimsa world that we are dreaming into being, we say—May all beings
share this deep knowing—Compassion is encircling this beautiful earth
for all beings everywhere—bringing freedom, joy, family, and love to
all precious life.
As always, with tears of gratitude, I send my thanks to each of you,
dear Prayer Circle members, for joining this circle of compassion and
shining the Light of Truth for all to see, so that one day soon, all
beings will live in peace together.
May compassion and love reign over all the earth for all beings
Thank you all for your devotion to truth, love, liberation and peace
for all beings.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy Carman, and greetings from
Will, Madeleine, Tara and the Circle of Compassion team
