McDonald’s Latest Humane Washing
Promise. The animal killing giant has pledged to get
100% of their eggs eventually from “aviary systems,” which they will
call “cage free.” With their business declining, they are
responding to public pressure for less cruelty. The New York
Times described these systems as buildings in which “chickens [can]
move freely up and down tiers and among nesting areas.” But we know
that to produce many billions of eggs each year, there is no way to
properly care for each hen and that, in the end each one will be
cruelly killed when she no longer produces enough eggs. So, on the one
hand, we must celebrate that human consciousness is rising and becoming
aware of the cruelty in food. On the other hand, we must face the
fact that industry will deceive the public and behave as if imprisoning
hens, stealing their eggs, and killing them can be done humanely.
This Week’s Prayer/Focused Thought for
Humanity to Think Not Just Outside the Cage But Also Outside the Farm
Itself. We give thanks for the divine and uplifting
understanding that animals are our friends, not our food. It has
given us such great joy to be able to feel our transcendent kinship
with all life. Divine Intelligence and Love that dwells in and
animates all living beings, we feel your peaceful, healing
presence. We are so grateful that human consciousness has risen
to an understanding that cruelty to animals is wrong. The next stage to
which we must all rise is the even deeper understanding that animals
are not ours to use in any way. This week, we send our thoughts
and prayers out on wings of love to all who can hear them—we cry out to
all people--animals are our brothers and sisters. We do not own
them. Let us never use them or each other, and let us live in
sacred peace with them from this day onward and forever.
As always, with tears of gratitude, I send my thanks to each of you,
dear Prayer Circle members, for joining this circle of compassion and
shining the Light of Truth for all to see, so that one day soon, all
beings will live in peace together.
May compassion and love reign over all the earth for all beings
everywhere.
Thank you all for your devotion to truth, love, liberation and peace
for all beings.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy Carman, and greetings from
