Greetings of love and gratitude from Judy Carman

More Good News: Another great book to uplift human consciousness is here.  Turning Points in Compassion: Personal Journeys of Animal Advocates was lovingly put together by Gypsy Wulff and Fran Chambers. There are over 50 stories that we can all use to share with others to help them awaken and join us in creating a vegan, nonviolent, compassionate world.  I’m especially thrilled because Will Tuttle’s story “Spiritual Awakening” is included, and my story “Compassion Encircles the Earth For All Beings Everywhere” (our daily prayer) is also in the book. The pen truly is “mightier than the sword,” and every time a vegan book is written and shared the ripples emanating from each loving word have the power to change hearts, indeed to change the world.  This particular book not only shares the true vision in words and pictures, but also all the profits are donated to animal rescue groups and sanctuaries. One of my favorite photos in the book is of Pam Ahern’s pink t-shirt (p. 67) which reads “If we could live happy and healthy lives without harming others, why wouldn’t we?”
 
Actions and Prayers for the Mighty Pen.  This week let us focus our attention and prayers on ways to share our vegan message.  Just a few decades ago there were very few books and no internet to help us bring the consciousness of universal compassion to all.  But today we give thanks and celebrate that, not only are we not alone in our mission, but we have thousands of compelling books, films, internet information, and prayers to help others see that we have been programmed to believe it is acceptable to exploit, kill, eat, and wear animals. Let us take action this week and share as widely as we can some of these inspiring written treasures we have been given.  And in our prayers and thoughts this week, let us hold a vision of millions of people turning the pages of Turning Points in Compassion and other vegan books; millions of people exploring websites, watching animal rights films, and catching sight of an animal liberation billboard.  And in these visions, we see each person having their own “turning point in compassion.”  Those words they are reading, those powerful words are lighting up their hearts and reawakening their childhood dreams of a world in which all animals are our friends. Let us imagine as each word is read, another light shines out until the entire planet is glowing with love, compassion, reverence for life, and freedom for all beings. And so it is that we see all people “turning to compassion” and true peace embracing all people, all animals, and the earth at long last.

May compassion and love reign over all the earth for all beings everywhere.
