This is a special week for animals. In addition to the 22nd being Earth Day, this week is World Week for Animals in Laboratories. World Day for Animals in Labs is Wednesday the 24th.
Earth Day will see events taking place all over the world to honor and celebrate Mother Earth and educate people as to how they can take an active role in healing our earth home. Of course, as we know, the most effective and powerful action anyone can take to heal the earth is to live a vegan life. In addition to eliminating animals from one’s diet and thereby reducing the terrible impact of animal agriculture, veganism also involves living in a loving and nonviolent way toward all animals, people, and the earth.
Animals in laboratories suffer continually and immensely in experiments which do not produce scientific results that help human beings. Great harm comes to humanity due to some drugs that appeared to be safe for animals, but proved to be harmful for humans. Also, humanity suffers because so much money and time is wasted on animal testing that could be spent on finding worthwhile cures and healing modalities through the use of the many non-animal tests available.
This week let us join together in focused thought and prayer and see millions of Earth Day participants finally “getting it.” Let us see light bulbs going on everywhere as people see clearly how saving our earth home is intimately connected with the violence in our food and other products. And let us also see light bulbs going on among laboratory workers as they suddenly open their hearts to deep empathy and go to work to end laboratory testing on animals once and for all.
Weeks like this are special. They give us the advantage of infusing our thoughts and prayers into the extremely powerful energy field produced by so many people around the world pondering human caused cruelty and destruction and simultaneously reaching out for ways to help and to hope. Above all, we add beautiful, tender love for all beings to that energy field.
As always thank you for your devotion to bringing love, peace, and freedom to all beings everywhere.
If you haven’t already done so, please join us at the Prayer Circle for Animals facebook page.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy, and Will, Madeleine, and the Circle of Compassion team.
