Members of Operation Infinite Patience (a Sea Shepherd campaign) are currently standing guard and bearing witness to the bloody annual dolphin slaughter and capture that takes
place in Japan. The killing of these intelligent, beautiful animals was made famous worldwide by the film entitled "The Cove." Stories abound of dolphins who have saved people
from drowning. A surfer, not so long ago, was rescued from the mouth of a great white shark by dolphins. There is some speculation that dolphins, like dogs, are able to detect
a person's illness and may even attempt to help the person heal.
Yet, in spite of this and in spite of the worldwide outcry against Japan for allowing this brutal attack on the dolphin community, it continues. Most are killed for meat.
A few are captured and sent to aquariums and amusement parks if they survive the trauma of capture and the loss of their loved ones. This is an important time to remind
friends and family to boycott such parks and to ask Japanese friends to join us in calling upon the Japanese government to stop the killing.
This week, as this horror continues, let us send strength, admiration, and gratitude to those individuals holding the high watch with Operation Infinite Patience. Let us send
infinite love and wisdom to those who are mindlessly attacking these sacred beings. May they suddenly see into the souls of their prey and finally understand that they are
not prey at all, but rather they are their brothers and sisters. And let us, above all, send love to the dolphins that is as never-ending as the waves upon the sea.
In gratitude for their beauty and all they have done to model forgiveness, compassion, and infinite patience toward humanity, let us hold the powerful vision of all
dolphins free at last from human ignorance, greed, and violence.
Thanks to each of you for holding the high watch with your own infinite patience, for that is what it will take to transform human consciousness and bring it into harmony
with our true nature.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy; and Will, Madeleine, and the Circle of Compassion team
